Dear Reader,
I am so proud to serve in the Council of an Institute that represents an industry in the BEST Province of the Western Cape, where we are fully committed to ensure that individuals and businesses obtain peace of mind and a sense of security, based on sound advice. The IIWC is an institute that was established over 120 years ago and it is a body that represents every sector of the insurance industry as a whole and, as with all physical bodies, every appendage has an inter-dependency on the other and each has a unique and critical role to fulfill in the fully fledged functionality within our Sector e.g. Assessors, Underwriters, Insurers, UMA's, Brokers,Suppliers and so forth.
Our Core Focus Areas are:
Getting Together to Network and have fun while doing it. We host numerous events and often these are aimed at specific groups, e.g. we have a huge focus on the U35's where we host groups and enable interaction with leaders in our industry, whilst getting to know each other. With it being Women's Month we hosted the Makeup Tutorial on the 6th of August. The next upcoming event is our Social Online Pop-Up Event on the 27th of August.
Growing through Continuous Professional Development, where we host forums for CPD points and share the latest in terms of market developments, products and knowledge etc. as hosted with Caroline da Silva on the 5th of August where the Hot topic of Business Interruption cover with reference to COVID 19 was part of the subject matter.
Giving Back to Community: The IIWC is an NPO and every year we are proud to give back to the various charities that the institute supports in our community and we encourage all to view our brand new website and contribute to our COVID FUND so we can make a difference in the lives of others.
